MICROBE PATTERN AND RISK FACTORS OF DEEP NECK ABSCESS PATIENTS IN ATMA JAYA HOSPITAL

Introduction: Deep neck abscess is a pus accumulation in the space and tissue of cervical fascia caused by an infection has potential for several complications. Appropriate use antibiotics can prevent these complications, but long culture time been main concern. Diabetes oral hygiene are identified as commonly found risk factors deep abscess. This study aims to analyze patients’ characteristics usage treating patients Atma Jaya Hospital well assessing effect diabetes causes abscess.
 Methods: was cohort retrospective, descriptive analytic study. The samples were from 23 undergoing treatment met inclusion exclusion criteria. Chi square Fisher exact test used determine significance higiene relation Results: There more male than female with age range 20-30 years old. Streptococcus viridans pyogenes most common bacteria causing abscesses. Metronidazole, gentamicin ceftriaxone widely it had shown great compatibility fight against germs this disease. Statistical results on submandibular abscesses, peritonsillar, Ludwig’s angina p(AS)=0.605, p(AP)=1.000, p(LA)=1.000, while p(AS)=0.685, p(AP)=0.657, p(LA)=1.000.
 Conclusion: tends occur productive age. recommended empiric antibiotics. no significant relationship between occurrence
